Fiitx vs. workflow automation tools

Zapier, Make and n8n connect apps: a trigger fires, a chain of actions runs. Fiitx takes a different shape — a job, owned end to end by an AI employee that works by your organization's own rules. The two are not mutually exclusive; most teams that use both put the trigger-action tool on simple hand-offs and the AI employee on the work that needs judgment, context and a standard for correctness.

01

What each one is built to own

A trigger-action tool is built around the event: when X happens, do Y, then Z. It is excellent at wiring two apps together with no code. An AI employee is built around the job: the whole piece of recurring work, including the parts that need judgment — matching columns that are not in the same order, applying this month's pay period instead of the calendar month, deciding which exception is worth escalating. That judgment is usually the part a trigger chain cannot express.

Where the rules live

In a trigger-action tool, the logic for one workflow lives inside that workflow — change a definition and you find every workflow that used it. On Fiitx, rules are delivered per organization: report formulas, approval thresholds, what counts as a duplicate. Correct one of them once and it applies everywhere that organization's AI employees use it.

How it compares

Unit of work
One job with a defined output and a standard for correctness, not a chain of trigger-action steps.
Where it runs
The desktop app on the employee's own machine, reaching the browser sessions, files and credentials already there.
Before anything goes out
Stops and shows the exact message, post or write-back for a person to approve.
When a rule changes
Corrected once per organization, applied everywhere that organization's AI employees use it — no hunting through separate workflows.
Can the two run together
Yes. A trigger-action tool can hand a simple event to an AI employee, which then does the part that needs judgment.

Questions

Is Fiitx a replacement for Zapier, Make or n8n?

Not a direct swap. Those tools are strong at wiring apps together on a trigger; Fiitx is built to own a whole recurring job, including the parts that need judgment. Many teams run both.

Can an AI employee call the same apps a workflow tool connects to?

If the job calls for it, yes — through the systems already on the employee's machine, such as the browser session and installed tools, not through a separate connector marketplace.

Does switching mean rebuilding every automation?

No. Start with the one job that is costing the most judgment calls per week and leave the rest where it is. The two can run side by side.

Does Fiitx run in the cloud like those tools do?

The runtime is the desktop app on your own machine. The cloud side (x.fiit.ai) only delivers each organization's job definitions, rules and entitlements — it does not execute the work itself.
